Today, the Senate Banking Committee will meet in executive session to vote on the nominees for the two vacant SEC Commissioner positions. The Banking Committee held hearings in March to consider the nominations of Lisa Fairfax, a professor at George Washington University Law School, and Hester Peirce, Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Financial Markets Working Group at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. The SEC has been operating with three commissioners since Commissioners Aguilar and Gallagher left last year.
