President Obama has nominated Luis Aguilar for a second term as Commissioner at the SEC, and has nominated Daniel Gallagher, a partner at Wilmer Culter, as a new apppointment to replace Commissioner Kathleen Casey, whose term expires later this year.
Prior to joining Wilmer Cutler, Mr. Gallagher was a Deputy Director of the Division of Trading and Markets at the SEC, and served as co-acting director of the Division from April 2009 to January 2010. He was also counsel to former SEC Commissioner Paul S. Atkins and later as a counsel to former SEC Chairman Christopher Cox.
Both nominations are subject to approval by the U.S. Senate.
