Hensarling Sees Dodd-Frank Reconsideration Under GOP Congress

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, House Financial Services Committee Chair Jeb Hensarling outlined his plans in the event that Republicans take control of the Senate. In addition to a legislative agenda that includes tax reform and considering the reauthorization of the export-import bank, under a Republican controlled congress, Hensarling would push for a reconsideration of Dodd-Frank, according to the article. Specifically, Hensarling “would hope” to eliminate both the FSOC and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, but would push for whatever reforms would pass Congress.
