This past weekend, Congress passed a $915 billion omnibus appropriations bill that will fund the federal government through the end of fiscal year 2012. The bill includes a $1.321 billion allocation to the SEC, which is $136 million over last year's level and $86 million below the budget requested by SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro. The CFTC's appropriation is $205 million, about the same as last year, but well short of the administration's request of $308 million.
