Last Friday, the SEC named David Grim the Director of the Division of Investment Management. Grim had been serving as acting director of the Division since February. Grim originally joined the SEC in 1995 and had been deputy director of the Division since January 2013. As deputy director, he was responsible for overseeing the Division's disclosure review, rulemaking, guidance, and risk monitoring functions.
In a statement announcing the move, Chair Mary Jo White highlighted Grim's public service and "deep knowledge of the work of the division."
